Scope is controlled by the `types=` param (comma-separated; defaults to every type the caller may read). Types the caller lacks permission for are silently dropped. Default ranking uses `pg_trgm` word-similarity on `entities.name` (gated by `SEARCH_RANKING_ENABLED`, default on; when off it falls back to full-string similarity). When `SEARCH_TYPE=hybrid` the endpoint additionally fuses with vector ANN over `entity_embeddings` via Reciprocal Rank Fusion.
